I miss the old Semi-Current

On April Fool’s Day, 2013, this website was born with a simple goal in mind. To become a leading source of the latest and most important technology news in the Philippines. Now, a little more than half a decade later, we’re starting over.

The goal remains the same, but the plan to get there has changed. Whereas before the focus was far too broad, now there will only be a handful of topics covered. Namely, Auto, Entertainment, Gadgets, Gaming, and Social.

Time and resources permitting, we want to eventually branch out and cover a wide range of niche and highly specific technology-related topics, mostly those outside of the consumer electronics space. These are:

  • AI
  • Auto
  • Blockchain
  • Cryptocurrency
  • Desktop
  • Energy
  • Gadgets
  • IoT
  • Machine Learning
  • Mobile
  • Software
  • Space
  • Startups
  • VR/AR
  • 3D Printing

Sort of a random list, but one that’s going to inform many of the topics and stories covered in these pages for the next 12 months. Originally, Semi-Current was supposed to be a bit distanced in its coverage, allowing us to touch on and spark only surface discussions that don’t have much depth. Now we want to dig in.

The site, as always, will be worked on primarily by its founding member and editor-in-chief, David Gonzales. We intend to fill you in on more details in the future. For now, expect a steady stream of content that will help you, our dear reader, to make better decisions when it comes to your next gadget purchase or service subscription.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to send them in through our Contact page or by sending an email to editor@semicurrent.com.
