Realme, once a sub-brand of Oppo, will soon be officially coming to our shores on November 29 and has already laid its foundation with some online social media presence and a new logo.
For the unacquainted, Realme was once under Oppo until its split earlier this year. Although now separate companies, both Realme still uses components from Oppo. For example, the LCD panel of the Realme 2 Pro uses the same one found on the Oppo F9. It’s the same for the Realme C1 and Oppo A3s. Another thing, Realme almost exclusively uses the same custom ColorOS UI skin as Oppo does for Android.
What’s interesting about Realme is that they offer slightly different internal hardware, slightly different aesthetics, at a cheaper price (or so they claim). But if that’s not enough to excite you, then the good news is that it is rumored that they will be launching the Helio P70-powered Realme U1 alongside their company’s launch here.
Nonetheless, more choices and more competition, even among closely-related companies, is always welcome.
