The wireless mouse seems to be making a pretty good case for itself, now that ASUS is also joining the foray with its ROG-branded Gladius II wireless gaming mouse.
Based on the wired gaming mouse of the same name, the Gladius II wireless gaming mouse has the same over-all ergonomic design of the wired variant. This includes RGB-customizable lighting via ASUS’ Aura Sync.
The only difference is that the bottom RGB LED diffuser is gone, and going wireless has added some 20 grams to the weight, for a total of 130 g.
ASUS has made a significant change with the sensor. It now features a 16,000 DPI optical sensor versus the wired variant’s 12,000 DPI sensor. Wireless operation is handled by a combination of 2.4 GHz RF and low-latency Bluetooth BLE to achieve a 1 ms response time.
Interestingly, these specs do align with the wireless Logitech G Pro’s 16,000 DPI sensor and 1 ms response time target. it even has a similar maximum speed at 400 IPS.
Recharging is done via a USB port in front of the mouse, which can also be used for wired operation should the user desire it.
The ROG Gladius II wireless is expected to be priced similarly to the Logitech G Pro wireless at around $140 (approx. Php 7,500).
