That was quick. The just-announced Samsung Galaxy Note9, which is said to be scheduled for a global release through certain markets on August 24th, will evidently be making its way to the Philippines very soon. As a matter of fact, it’s already available online through pre-order, and it comes bundled with a number of surprising freebies. When we say surprising, we don’t just mean that they will make you go, “Oh, this sure is nice to have.” We’re talking about, “What? No way! You can’t be serious?” level stuff.
The Note9, as you may already know, was introduced yesterday as the latest and greatest of all Note-branded Samsung devices. It offers a large, crisp Infinity Display with support for Samsung’s new S-Pen stylus, powerful intelligent camera systems on both the front and the back, and a hefty built-in battery for all-day performance. While it may have ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack, it does hold on to a few legacy features, notably microSD card support up to 1TB.
As of this morning, the Galaxy Note9 has been made available for pre-order through none other than the Lazada website. It comes in two different storage models, so the online pre-order has it bundled with a couple of different choices for freebies. For the 128GB model, those who pre-order can choose between the following three items: a Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro fitness band worth Php 8,990, a pair of Gear IconX wireless earphones worth Php 8,490, and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7″ tablet worth Php 7,990.
In case none of those are enough to entice you, however, or you truly need more storage than 128GB and would like to go for the high-end 512GB model, you’re in for a treat. That’s because the online pre-order for the high-storage model comes bundled with a brand new 32-inch Samsung HD TV worth Php 16,999. Yeah, we know, TVs are cheap nowadays, but still. One new HDTV, for free, as part of a new smartphone bundle? It could be one of this year’s greatest gadget deals.
While it’s an interesting bundle, for sure, it’s far from a steal: the 128GB variants all cost Php 55,990 each. And the most expensive Ocean Blue model, which comes with a matching yellow S-Pen stylus, is priced Php 75,990. That’s what it takes to own the most advanced smartphone that’s geared towards productivity, apparently. All of a sudden, that 50k iPhone X doesn’t look that unreachable anymore.
