KingCom‘s latest Android-powered product is not a smartphone, but you’ll be able to use it for phone calls and text messaging, anyway. It’s a phablet called the KingCom PiPHONE Venus, and it’s now officially one of the most affordable 7-inch devices out on the market with 3G SIM support.
Well, it’s not actually out yet. But it will be next week, according to our sources from KingCom Philippines. The PiPHONE Venus is equipped with a 7-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display, but its native resolution actually goes over 1080p.
Don’t believe us? According to its spec sheet, the PiPHONE Venus offers 1920×1200 pixels of onscreen goodness, which translates to about 323 PPI of pixel density. You can expect it to show sharp on-screen text and eye-popping icons as you make your way through the menu screens and apps on its pre-installed OS, Android 4.4 KitKat.
Other PiPHONE Venus features include an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and support for up to 32GB microSD cards. There are also dual cameras (5MP rear, 2MP front), and dual-SIM capability. With either one of its SIM slots, it supports HSPA+ data for Web browsing, and it also has the usual collection of wireless features which include Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi n.
The PiPHONE Venus is scheduled to become available first as an online-only exclusive at Lazada Philippines on Monday, January 26, at 8:30 AM. And one week later, on February 2, it will be sold at KingCom retail outlets across the country. Its suggested retail price is Php 7,998.
