The post Huawei Watch GT4 launched with better health tracking in 41mm and 46mm sizes appeared first on SemiCurrent.
]]>The main differentiator between the two different variants is battery life – you get more with the bigger one. But it is also somewhat obvious that Huawei intended for the Watch GT4 to have “his and hers” options for those who might want one or the other – or both.
There are two stylish trims for the Watch GT4: 46mm with a so-called Octogonal Design, as well as 41mm with a Pendant Design. Both units come with better Always-On Display features, an assortment of sensors and algorithms to gather more accurate user data, and more improved health tracking.
Compared to the Watch GT3, the new mdoels are said to offer up to 20 percent more battery life. More specifically, the 46mm variant can last up to a maximum of 14 days battery life (4 days with the Always-On Display turned on), while the 41mm variant can go for a maximum of up to 7 days of battery life per full charge.
Both Android and iOS phones are supported, so these should work no matter what type of phone you use. As for pricing, both units are expected to retail for around €250 or around Php 15,100. More accurate info on local units may soon appear on Huawei’s social media pages or online stores, so watch out for those.

]]>HP has unveiled the Spectre Fold, the thinnest foldable PC on the market with a 17-inch OLED touchscreen display that can be, well, folded in half. It’s being marketed as a unique device that can be used in a number of ways, including as a laptop, tablet, and full desktop computer.
It is certainly built to function pretty much like a hybrid computer. Its huge screen offers a native resolution of 1920×2560 pixels, VESA True Black HDR 500 certification, and even comes with built-in Low Blue Light tech to keep its users eyes safe. When folded, it can be used as a 12.3-inch “clamshell” device that can be detected wirelessly to a keyboard and trackpad contraption via Bluetooth.
Powering the Spectre Fold is a beefy Intel Core i7-1250U processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, 1TB of M.2 SSD storage, and Intel Iris Xe Graphics onboard. It also has a pair of Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, Wi-Fi 6, fast charging support, and a built-in 6-cell, 94.3 Wh Li-ion polymer battery.
Whatever you might think of the form factor, at least it brings respectable specs. The question is, can it fully utilize the pre-installed Windows 11 OS that it ships with? Or will users be left wanting more? Our guess is that will be between HP and those who decide to shell out $4,999, because that is how much it will cost.
Fat chance it becomes available in the Philippines, but maybe big enough fans of the foldable genre of devices might find a way.

]]>As of today, a new variant of the AirPods Pro 2 will be sold on the market without a Lightning port built in. Instead, there will be a USB-C charging port, similar to the one that was added on the newest iPhones and the ones that are already present on iPads and MacBooks.
We say similar because these ports may not be exactly the same. But functionally, they are indeed of the USB-C variety. This should make it even easier to charge them using any random charger that might be in your bag or anywhere in your house.
The new AirPods Pro 2 are powered by the Apple H2 chip, which has enabled certain features like spatial audio and adaptive EQ. It also comes with dust, sweat, and water resistance, and up to 6 hours of battery life with a single charge.
The new AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C connector will be available through Apple for Php 14,990 apiece. That may be quite a steep premium, but for those who can’t live without their earphones, it is one of the best portable options out there.

They are cheaper and have more available colors than the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, including yellow, pink, green, and blue.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus carry a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, respectively, with a screen resolutions of 2532×1170 pixels. These displays are protected by a new Ceramic Shield front cover that’s noted to be a lot better than the previous iteration.
Unlike the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, both units are powered by the A16 Bionic chip, yet another one of Apple’s custom silicon offerings. It’s said to be up to 40 percent faster than the A15 Bionic chip in the old iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max.
Speaking of the older models, these new ones also feature the Dynamic Island, Apple’s fancy way of doing the notch. As Apple puts it, it can be seen as an innovative way to interact with important alerts and Live Activities. The reality is, it is indeed a notch.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus seem to be more for people who don’t necessarily need all the Pro features in the more expensive models. They are still great smartphones with a powerful computing chip, a great camera system, and a gorgeous display. So if you’re looking for more affordable iPhone options, they might just do the trick.
If these have piqued your interest, the iPhone 15 will start at PHP 56,990 for the 128GB model, while the iPhone 15 Plus will start at PHP 63,990 for the same storage capacity. Both phones will go on pre-order first this September 15 and will start shipping on September 22. As for local availability, expect them to arrive around October to November 2023.
