The OnePlus 6 has a notch

OnePlus 6
It’s not official yet, but from what we know so far, there’s a new Android-powered OnePlus smartphone on the horizon. It has already been teased on Twitter by OnePlus itself, and the company’s “partner” tech blogs and personalities have already written and talked about it. The phone’s name is clear: it’s going to be called the OnePlus 6. But what it offers, as far as features go, is still not clear.

But we do know one thing, and that is it will have a notch. Right at the top of the screen. This notch appears to be in just the right spot to hold the phone’s front-facing camera, or at least OnePlus seems to have thought so, and so that’s where you’ll find it. Regardless, we’re not quite sure if this notch needs to exist, but it does. So there’s that.

Here’s what else we know about the OnePlus 6. According to famed tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee a.k.a. MKBHD, there’s a Snapdragon 845 onboard, 8GB of RAM, 256GB internal storage and possibly dual cameras at the back. In his view, there can be only one way to describe it at this point:

In other words, this phone’s bout to be expensive. – @MKBHD

Judging by that very short list of features, well, we’re inclined to agree. It looks like it’s going to be yet another flagship killer, or at least that’s what OnePlus probably hopes it to be. In a seconds-long Twitter teaser video, the company went with the tagline “The speed you need” for the phone. We’ll see just how fast it really is once it comes out. When that is exactly, we don’t know yet. Expect an update here soon.
