Local mobile phone retailer Cherry Mobile is gearing up to launch several new devices towards the end of this year, and one of them is the company’s very first combination watch-and-phone product — a.k.a. a smartwatch — called the Cherry Mobile G1. It doesn’t look like much based on the information that we have on it so far, and its specs aren’t that amazing, but it’ll surely be an interesting entrant into the local mobile device category.

It also appears to have a slide-out alphanumeric keypad, based on the above-posted photo. Again, it doesn’t exactly scream cutting-edge in terms of features, but that’s understandable once you factor in how affordable it is. Just how affordable, exactly? It’ll cost only 1,599 Pesos, so very.
